Scott Caan & Alex O'Loughlin Discuss Upcoming Hawaii Five-0 Series

Scott Caan & Alex O'Loughlin interviewed for the remake of Hawaii Five-0 which kicks off September 20th. That's a monday and the show will premiere at 10pm/9pm central. I must admit that the promos look good for this one as far as the action scenes go. I'm unsure about the actors yet. We have to see if Alex O'Loughlin can inhabit the skin of Steve McGarrett or not.

The Australian has played cops in the past, having been Detective Kevin Hiatt for 7 episodes of The Shield back in 2007. He's coming off of playing Dr. Andy Yablonski in Three Rivers and opposite the lovely Jennifer Lopez in The Back-up Plan earlier this year.

Caan takes on the Detective Danny (Book 'em Danno) Williams character. He looks like he has a bit more brass than James McArthur's Danny from the original series. Danno in this version of 5-0 franchise is a former Jersey cop with an ex-wife and eight-year-old daughter.

Like I said, the action sequences look first rate, but we'll reserve judgement on the show til after we see how the cast works itself out.

The Old Hawaii 5-0 Theme Music And Opening Credits

I don't know how many times I watched that opening scene with the huge wave curling into the beach on Hawaii and of course the lovely Nancy Kwan and Jack Lord with that severe hair cut. The show eventually went off the air and the very next season Magnum P.I. started with Tom Selleck
